River's Edge Apartments: Update #2

The site work and conversion of overhead utilities to underground service proved to be challenging scopes for the River’s Edge complex. With the addition of the boardwalk, the existing location of Island Home Avenue and the long standing utility poles had to be completely reworked. A big task became a bigger challenge as the weather did not cooperate by dumping days of rain, effected the reopening of the main thorough fare. The crews were persistent and worked through the challenges, installing large underground electrical vaults and cabling.

Big boys and bigger “toys” were utilized to tame the slope and contours of the property to create building sites and roadways. We refer to the equipment as toys because they are just so much fun to operate. A skilled operator in a heavy piece of earth moving equipment can be seen as an artist with a different type of canvas for his creation. State of the art precision equipment is used to manicure grades within a fraction of an inch. As construction people, that is a beautiful picture.
